Replacing Old Crittall Windows with Crittall Homelight Plus
D&R Design recently completed a Crittall window replacement project in Bath, installing Crittall Homelight Plus windows to replace the property’s original single-glazed Crittall frames.
The existing windows were carefully removed from the Bath stone surrounds and replaced with new double-glazed Homelight Plus windows, ensuring the historic character of the building was preserved while significantly improving energy performance.
To faithfully replicate the original design, the new windows were manufactured with rectangular lead work and traditional soldered joints, mirroring the detailing found in the original glazing. This attention to detail allowed the replacement windows to maintain the authentic appearance expected in Bath’s historic architecture.
